Chapman University, as a member of the Statewide California Electronic Library Consortium (SCELC), is part of a three-year, uncapped read-and-publish agreement with the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) until June 2026. This agreement allows Chapman-affiliated authors to publish their articles Open Access in many ACM journals at no cost to themselves.
In other terms, this agreement covers the Article Processing Charges (APCs) for Chapman authors whose research articles are accepted for publication in applicable ACM journals during the three year agreement.

To be eligible, articles must:
Authors choosing to publish open access under this agreement will retain copyright and their articles will be assigned a Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY) license by default, though authors may choose a different Creative Commons license if they prefer.
This deal will take effect in July 2023 and last through 2026.
Eligible corresponding authors will be identified via their institutional email address at the time of submission.
The corresponding author will be instructed to select Institutionally Paid Open Access / Permissions Release, although no additional payment will be required. Re-use rights (i.e. Creative Commons licenses) will also be selected as part of this workflow.
There is no limit to the number of articles that can be published open access under this deal.
