Education

This LibGuide provides a variety of helpful resources for conducting Education-related research.

Cabell's Directory of Publishing Opportunities

Three of Cabell's disciplines may be of interest for the field of Education:

  • Educational Curriculum and Methods
  • Educational Psychology and Administration
  • Educational Technology and Library Science

Searching in Cabell’s:

  • Click on one of the aforementioned disciplines
  • On the results page, you can click Filters on the top right next to the search box to select other or multiple databases
  • You can also filter further to a specific topic or add certain keywords to the search box to narrow results
  • Once you have a results list of journals to work with, click on the title for detailed information

Journal Citation Reports (JCR)

JCR can show you:

  • Most frequently cited journals in a field
  • Highest impact journals in a field

NOTE: Not all journals are found in JCR. Also, citation data is just one way to evaluate journals.

Ulrich's Periodicals Directory

*Note: Access to Ulrich's should work on the library's computers, on-campus, and off-campus. You may be prompted with a Chapman login box to enter your Chapman username and password. If an institutional login box appears, do not use this method and please ask the librarian for help.

This directory provides helpful information on all periodical types (ie. journals, magazines, and newsletters). For example, you can find which databases a journal is indexed or abstracted in to determine the reach and accessibility of articles published in a journal. You can also discover circulation information, if a journal is peer-reviewed (or “refereed”), the year a journal was first published, and the frequency of its publication schedule.
