Licensed Mobile Apps

Access to the following apps are provided by the Leatherby Libraries. For any assistance on downloading and registering for each app, please contact the library.

5MinuteConsult App

Access 5MinuteConsult by clicking HERE and click on 'Create A Free Personal Account' towards the right of the page.
Complete the registration form and click on 'Save & Continue'.
Visit the iTunes App Store (Apple devices), Google Play Store (Android devices) and search for "5-Minute Clinical Consult"
The app should download directly to your device. Open the App on your device.
Login with your personal account information you created on the 5MinuteConsult webpage.

AccessMedicine App

AccessMedicine app delivers support and point of care solutions for clinical practice through these mobile references: Quick Medical Dx & Rx, Fitzpatrick’s Color Atlas of Clinical Dermatology, Differential Diagnosis Tool, and the Pocket Guide to Diagnostic Tests.
To activate and access the app, sign up for a My Access account today by clicking on AccessMedicine and clicking on "Chapman University" in the upper right hand corner. Once you have an active My Access account, you will be able to login to the app.

Micromedex App

Visit the iTunes App Store (Apple devices), Google Play Store (Android devices) or the Windows Store (Windows 8 devices) and search for "Micromedex."
From all the Micromedex app results, you will have access to the following apps:
- IBM Micromedex Drug Ref
- IBM Micromedex Drug Int.
- IBM Micromedex IV Comp.
- IBM Micromedex NeoFax
- IBM Micromedex Pediatrics
The app should download directly to your device. Open the App on your device.
Click on the Micromedex App link above and click on the "Download Mobile Apps" button on the bottom right of the page.
Locate the password to login into each app on your device.

The Medical Letter App

Visit the iTunes App Store (Apple devices), Google Play Store (Android devices) and search for "The Medical Letter"
The app should download directly to your device. Open the App on your device.
Click on the link above to register for access to the app.
You will now have access to the app using the information you used to register.

UpToDate App

Access UpToDate by clicking HERE and fill out the registration form on the home page using your Chapman email address.
UpToDate will display an activation message and send a confirmation email.
Visit the iTunes App Store (Apple devices), Google Play Store (Android devices) and search for "UpToDate"
The app should download directly to your device. Open the App on your device.
Login with your personal account information.

Additional Free Mobile Apps

CDC Mobile App Important health articles, popular journals, timely updates and access to social media to coincide with important health concerns and events throughout the year. It gives an increasingly mobile public 24/7 access to important health information. Available on the App Store for iOS devices and the Play Store for Android devices.
CDC Vaccine Schedules App Optimized for tablets and useful on smartphones, the app shows the child, adolescent, and adult vaccines recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). Available on the App Store for iOS devices and the Play Store for Android devices.
Epocrates Epocrates offers drug, disease and diagnostic reference tools. You will need to sign up for a free Epocrates by clicking the link the above. Download and log in to the app using the information used during registration. Available on the App Store for iOS devices and the Play Store for Android devices.
ICD-10 Consult ICD10 Consult puts the most searchable, complete, current ICD10-CM resource at your fingertips. With flexible search that speaks your language, a deep understanding of the codes, instant ICD9 to ICD10 conversion, and more. Available on the App Store for iOS devices and the Play Store for Android devices.
MediBabble Translator MediBabble is a history-taking and physical exam application designed to improve the safety, efficiency, and quality of care for non-English speaking patients. Available on the App Store for iOS devices.
NDC Express This app allows you the search drug products in the National Drug Code directory. Available on the App Store for iOS devices and the Play Store for Android devices.
OB Express 2.0 The FDA's Orange Book App allows you to search by Active Ingredient or Proprietary Name; Applicant Holder (Firm); Application Number; or Patent Number. Search all marketing statuses (Rx, OTC, Discontinued) with one search. Available on the App Store for iOS devices and the Play Store for Android devices.
Pediatric Emergency Guide The Pediatric Emergency Guide is an app designed for users to dose pediatric emergency medicines and equipment to patients based on weight or age. Available on the App Store for iOS devices.
Plumb's Veterinary Drugs The Plumb’s Veterinary Drugs App is a resource for accessing up-to-date veterinary drug information. Quickly search for a drug by class, generic or trade name, and then use the quick navigation links for fast access to a drug’s dose, dosage forms, drug interactions and adverse effects. Access to the app is free for students with registration. To REGISTER click on the link above to find more information on how to get free access. Prevention TaskForce (ePSS) The Prevention TaskForce (formerly ePSS) application assists primary care clinicians to identify the screening, counseling, and preventive medication services that are appropriate for their patients. When using this tool please read the specific recommendation to determine if the preventive service is appropriate for your patient. This tool is not meant to replace clinical judgment and individualized patient care.
QxMD Calculate Calculate by QxMD offers >400 point-of-care tools to educate around prognosis, diagnosis and optimal patient management. Available on the App Store for iOS devices and the Play Store for Android devices.
Shots Immunizations App The Shots app allows you to read detailed information on each vaccine, including dosing schedules, potential adverse reactions, contraindications, CPT codes, resident education, and more. Available on the App Store for iOS devices and the Play Store for Android devices.
