When using blogs, it's very important to be critical about the information and to make sure the blog and the information is credible.

Some tips to judge credibility of blogs:

  • What kind of authority does the author have in the field? For instance, many music blogs are written by musicologists, professors, and/or graduate students.
  • Is the blog part of a trusted organization? For example, a legitimate news source, a university library, a database company?
  • Does the author cite legitimate sources of information?
