Google Scholar offers several methods of research for you, scholars. You may want to use it within a combination of library databases for better and more results.
Within Google Scholar you have the ability to create your own library, to receive alerts, and more.
Create Alerts to searches by topic, author, or journal and receive them by email.
Create Your Library to save an article or paper to read later.
Create Your Profile to track citations to your published articles.
You can customize your search result experience.
At the Google Scholar landing page, from the left side of the screen, open the Google Scholar menu options. Click on "settings"
Library Links
From the left side of the new screen, click on "Library links". If you don't see Chapman University in the offered list, type in the search box "Chapman University" and when it is found, check the box near to its title. Then save your setting.
From the settings, you can also choose the number of results per page, open the results in a new page, or choose the bibliography manager tool.
Advanced Search
After your initial search, click the menu bar at the left side of the screen for an advanced search to limit to:
Cited By
Under each article/findings, shows the articles/books/chapters/proceedings that have cited that particular work since it was published.
Google Scholar Metrics provide you a way to gauge the influence of journal articles and scholarly works.
Impact shows the number of times articles from a particular publication have been cited in the past 5 years.
Journals by Discipline shows the highest cited journals by discipline.
Search by Journal Title looks for a specific journal and to get an idea of its impact and articles with their number of citations.
