To find research that is performed using a specific research method, the best way in many databases is simply to add that method as a keyword, e.g. adding "empirical study" or "quantitative study" as a search term. However, a few databases, such as PsycInfo, have a Methodology menu in their advanced search features that allow you to select a specific methodology.
