How to Get the Mango Languages App

Download the Mango Languages mobile app from one of the following sources:

 

If you have already created a Mango profile through Chapman's database, click "Sign in" at the bottom of the screen and enter your login information.

If you have not created a Mango profile, then follow these steps:

  1. Tap the icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
  2. Click either the "Unlock more lessons" button at the bottom of the page or the "Upgrade account" link.
  3. On the next screen, click the "Get" button next to the word "Free" near the bottom of the screen.
  4. Tap the search bar at the top of the screen to search for Chapman University by either name or zip code (92866).
  5. Enter your student ID number where it asks for your library card number, then click the "Access Mango" button.

Mango Reader App

With Mango Reader, you can go to any website on the internet and get translations for words you don’t know, in real time, while you’re reading. This feature is a Google Chrome extension currently available in 12 languages and it integrates with Mango's vocabulary feature.

When reading a webpage in a foreign language, you can:

  1. Double click on any word or hold down the "alt" key and select a word or phrase you don't recognize to learn the meaning.
  2.  Edit the phrase or translation and click "Add To My Vocabulary" to save it for later in your Mango account.
  3. Access your saved words and phrases through the Mango Languages database.

Mango Reader allows you to quickly:

  1. Get a translation of a word or phrase
  2. Get the meanings of a word and example sentences that illustrate each meaning
  3. See grammatical information about a word
  4. See verb conjugation charts for a verb
  5. Get an example pronunciation audio for a word
  6. Add a word to 'My Vocabulary' so you can practice and learn it later

The Mango Reader app requires Google Chrome and a Mango Languages account.
