Virtual Reality at the Rinker Campus

This guide provides details about the Virtual Reality technology available through the Rinker Campus Library Services.

Virtual Reality at the Rinker Campus

The Leatherby Libraries is pleased to provide VR technology to the Rinker Campus. Available programs will help aid health sciences faculty and students through simulation and immersive experiences.

Available VR Headsets

Meta Quest Pro

Meta Quest Pro Headset

Meta Quest Pro is a standalone system that does not require a connection to a PC. Meta Quest Pro is an augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) headset that offers immersive and interactive learning experiences. Via its motion tracking sensors and wireless controllers, the headset doesn't require a dedicated VR room, allowing users to use it anywhere on campus. Meta Quest Pro is also compatible with various VR peripherals and devices, such as physiological sensors and fNIR.

The library has four Meta Quest Pro headsets available for the Rinker Campus.

Meta Quest 3

The Meta Quest 3 is a VR headset that offers a compelling alternative to the Meta Quest Pro. While both headsets provide immersive virtual reality experiences, the Quest 3 is designed with a more accessible price point and a focus on enhanced clarity and mixed reality features. It boasts a high-resolution display, improved processing power, and a lighter, more comfortable design compared to the Quest Pro. The Quest 3 features advanced mixed reality capabilities with built-in cameras for seamless integration of the real and virtual worlds.

The library has two Meta Quest 3 headsets available for the Rinker Campus.
